Plastic Free Gift Guide!

Ok, to be honest, I spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME telling people that we aren't a gift shop. I am constantly harping on the fact we're an every day, practical, toilet paper, toothbrush shop yada yada yada. HOWEVER, once a year, I get to do something I really love: Turn Marilla's into a gift shop (where you can also buy toilet paper, toothbrushes, and dog poop bags).

We love plastic free presents and we love when people shop sustainably for their holiday gift giving. We do a few corporate gifts, but mostly we spend the holiday season helping our regular customers put together bundles for their loved ones and it brings us so much joy! 

Today I want to share some of my favorite bundles at Marilla's that you can build or we can put together for you! 

 

FOR WELLNESS

For the wellness guru in your life give the gift of calm healing treats! My favorite wellness basket is a Craft Farm Bath Bomb (these fizz for up to 30 minutes!) a jar of organic Peace Tea, a stainless steel tea infuser, a bottle of Magnesium Spray (good for sleep & muscle cramps) and a bundle of handmade incense!  

 

FOR THE CHEF

A set of glass spice jars filled with the classics: onion, garlic, basil, rosemary, and thyme. Add some cotton produce bags, a Tea Towel, a set of beeswax wraps, (maybe soup in a jar?) and some swedish dish cloths to upgrade their kitchen with festive patterns. If you REALLY want to get fancy, toss in a wooden egg holder from Zefiro. I LOVE the look of these on the countertop or in the fridge! 

 

FOR THE BUSY BEE

For the one on your list that needs to unwind for the holidays I would absolutely start with a jar of magic magnesium. You could pair this with one of our holiday glitter simple syrups to give it some shimmer. Tuck an Unwind shower steamer into the bundle with a lavender lotion bar for ultimate relaxation. (if you wanted to add something extra you could include a lavender earl grey lip butter!)

 

FOR THE SELF CARE SOMEONE

For the person who loves all things self care we have a blast. Start with our NEW Dip Hair & Body oil paired with the matching Dip shampoo & Conditioner. While this is a PERFECT treat on it's own, you could always add bath bomb, a Dry Body Brush, and soap bag to round it out.

 

THE COFFEE LOVER

grab some jars from our free jar shelf and get the coffee lover in your life a sampling of our best selling coffee beans. We have over 8 roasts to choose from and decaf as well! This can be a lovely gift on it's own or include a glass french press that you can find in our Geneva shop!

 

FOR THE YOUNGIN'S

This year we have fun for the kids too! We have handmade gluten free playdough in 4 bright colors, reusable water balloons that are fun for ALL ages, and kids toothbrushes and tooth tabs for the stocking. We also have a HANDFUL of felting kits on sale right now which make a great gift for the crafty kid! (this basket could also have a few jars of swedish candy in it IF you wanted to get crazy) 

 

THE BATHING BEAUTY

Grab a turkish bath towel in your favorite color. Add a bath bomb. Add a candle. Add a dry brush. Add a sugar scrub. add a box of merry christmas matches. For the candle. You just crushed it.  

 

FOR THE SWEET TOOTH 

Hit the free jar shelf or grab some glass jars with bamboo lids to fill with swedish candies, chocolate java drops, Tom Bumble Chocolate Peanut Butter Flake candies, Lou Whistle chocolate molasses pecan bars and Dr. Bronner Chocolate bars. Maybe they like Maple syrup? We have that too! 

 

on the topic of Maple Syrup, Marilla's is a GREAT place to build baking mixes and baskets! One of my favorites is mixing up a pancake mix and gifting it in a jar with a bottle of Maple Syrup

 

on the topic of bottles, my family is getting infused Olive Oil this year. I'm filling clear bottles with our delicious Olive Oil and a sprig of Rosemary. To top it off I'll be gifting it in a bottle bag and a bottle beanie to keep it cozy. The bottle bags are extremely handy for wine lovers and the beanies are just adorable.

FACIAL HAIR FELLA

Safety Razor, shaving brush, beard balm, tobacco driftwood hair & body dry oil. Boys like self care too.

 

MAYBE THEY JUST LIKE FACIALS

Hibar facial wash sampler, rosewater toner, facial dry brush, silicone eye masks (only a couple left), Antioxidant Serum, Goats Milk moisturizer. BOOM.

 

FOR THE COCKTAIL LOVER

Grab a mixer and gift it with two recycled glasses. Our glasses from Remark glass are all upcycled bottles and they look PERFECT nestled in with an Old Fashioned mixer wearing the aforementioned BOTTLE BEANIE.

 

FOR THE NAUGHTY LIST

Last but not least we have the bucket if coal. CHARcoal that is! This is my favorite gift basket every year as my grandpa would tease us about getting coal each year if we were bad. A charcoal bar of soap, charcoal citrus body scrub, a bloom bath bomb, and some charcoal water filter sticks make the perfect "Bucket of Coal" for a treat and a laugh! 

 

EASY MODE HONORABLE MENTIONS:

SHOWER STEAMER BUNDLE: 3 steamers in a jar is adorable.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO GET THEM/ THEY HAVE EVERYTHING: Holiday swedish dish cloths. One cloth replaces 17 rolls of paper towels and they are 100% compostable! 

 

Ok. I really need to get going but as you can see from this MEGA EMAIL I have a lot of gift ideas. Maybe too many.
